Health Human Resources Development Center of the National Health Commission, China

Health Human Resources Development Center (HHRDC) of the National Health Commission (NHC) of China was established in December 1998. Since its establishment, HHRDC has been dedicated to the development and services for human resources for health (HRH) under the direct leadership of the NHC. 

HHRDC’s core functions include health professional evaluation, professional development and training, social services for HRH, international cooperation and exchange, and HRH policy research. HHRDC has 3 subordinate independent entities: Beijing Health Human Resources Development LLC, China Health Human Resources Magazine Agency and Beijing Weirenweiye International Medicine Centre. HHRDC is also the host of a nationwide prestigious magazine China Health Human Resources and China Health Human Resources website at http://www.21wecan.com/. In addition, HHRDC is responsible for vocational skill accreditation, health professional credentials verification services, and has been designated as the WHO Collaborating Center for Human Resources for Health by the World Health Organization, and as the China-France Health Professional Training Center by both countries’ governments. HHRDC is also the President Entity and the Secretariat of the Belt &Road Health Professionals Development Alliance launched in June 2019. Domestically in China, HHRDC has been appraised as the 4A Grade (the highest grade) Human Resources Service Institution of Beijing, and awarded the Beijing Municipal Human Resources Credible Service Demonstration Unit. 

HHRDC acts in accordance with its principle, “people-foremost, future-oriented, development and innovation, pursuit of excellence” and advocates the culture of “Be a Good Person, Do Good Things, Make Great Achievements,” in order to carry out its responsibilities and duties for a Healthy China strategy, and to provide comprehensive, professional and high quality service to entities and individuals. HHRDC aims to contribute to the health professional capacity building and to the development of health care both domestically and globally.
